Bromelain

Bromelain is a protein-digesting enzyme that comes from the pineapple fruit. It’s useful in helping dogs digest their food and has a number of other health benefits as well.

Here are just a few of the reasons why you might want to give your dog bromelain:

  • It can help with digestion, so it’s good for dogs who have trouble eating or have digestive problems
  • It can help with arthritis, reducing inflammation and improving mobility in your dog’s joints
  • It can reduce pain caused by injury or surgery
  • It can improve your dog’s immune system, making him less susceptible to illnesses like colds or flu

Bromelain is a natural enzyme that comes from pineapples. It’s often used in supplements or topical creams, and it can be effective in reducing inflammation, easing pain, and even preventing cancer cell growth.

Bromelain is a proteolytic enzyme (or digestive enzyme), which means that it works by breaking down proteins into smaller pieces. It’s found in the stem of pineapples, usually in the form of dried powder or capsules.

Pineapple has been used medicinally for centuries in Central and South America, but bromelain wasn’t discovered until the early 1900s when researchers were looking for ways to use this plant as a treatment for cancer. They found that when they extracted juices from pineapple stems, they could isolate enzymes called proteases—and one of those proteases was bromelain!
