Epilepsy in dogs is a neurological disorder that causes seizures, which are involuntary movements or changes in muscle activity caused by abnormal electrical activity in the brain. Dogs can have what’s known as a grand mal seizure, where they lose consciousness and collapse; or a petit mal seizure when they become dazed or stare off into space for a few seconds.
