Dysbiosis is the state of imbalance between beneficial and harmful bacteria in the body. Bacteria are essential to our dog’s health, but dysbiosis occurs when there are too many or too few bacteria in the colon, or when there is an imbalance between good and bad bacteria. The result is poor digestion, malabsorption of nutrients, and a variety of other symptoms such as bloating, gas, constipation (or diarrhea), fatigue, and brain fog.
